Representatives from UPS & FedEx have alerted us that this holiday season both companies expect to be pushed to capacity, if not beyond. As such we want to ensure that you have ample notice of our holiday schedule.
Holiday shipping is expected to put an additional strain on shipping companies that are already struggling to cope with increased demands due to the COVID pandemic. A recent news article has stated that as many as 7 million packages a day could face delays between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please refer to the attached calendar for early send times this Holiday season.
Bulletins received after their deadline may need to be shipped via express service. Express shipping adds a substantial cost over traditional ground shipping, as such Diocesan may be invoicing parishes for this extra cost on bulletins received after their deadline should they require express shipping.
Christmas Schedule
- December 20th bulletin due by Noon Monday, December 14th.
- December 27th bulletin due by 10AM Friday, December 18th.
- January 3rd bulletin due by Noon Monday, December 28th.
Early Deadline Tips
- Office Closures If your office will be closed December 24th we are strongly suggesting you provide us with an alternate shipping address.
- Ordering Extra Bulletins Extra bulletins must be ordered when sending your bulletin. We will be more than happy to print extra bulletins but will not be able to print extra bulletins after your bulletin has printed.
- Parishes with Schools If your parish has a school, please remind your FedEx or UPS driver that you are receiving packages during Christmas vacation. Often when church schools are closed, and their shipping is withheld, shipping companies will withhold all church office shipments also. We also suggest providing an alternate delivery address during this time to prevent any delivery delays.
Thank you for your help this Holiday season. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
God Bless and Happy Holidays!
From all of the Diocesan staff
